Lemon Law
The Georgia Lemon Law’s goal is to protect the interests of individuals or small businesses who have bought or leased new cars, trucks, or motor homes that are defective. A new vehicle’s defect can be anything from leaking even when the windows are closed tight to the engine shutting off while driving. Manufacturers are required to try and repair a new vehicle if the owner or lessee notifies it within the first 2 years or 24,000 miles of operation (whichever occurs first). If the manufacturer is unable to repair the vehicle’s defect, then it must buy back the vehicle or replace it at the owner’s option.
Georgia Car Law provides information on buyback scenarios and settlement tips. You may also purchase the book, Lemon-Aid for Georgia Consumers, which gives step-by-step information on evaluating a Lemon Law claim and preparing for arbitration.
New Vehicles
Buying or leasing a new car is one of life’s sweetest events. It can also be one of the most frustrating. Whether you are dealing with deceptive dealer practices or an expired temporary tag, Georgia Car Law has the information you need to handle the issues that may arise, so you can drive off into the sunset.
Used Vehicles
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, used car sales made up more than 76% of total passenger car and truck sales in 2019.[1] The vast majority of us are buying used cars! Georgia Car Law has you covered because we discuss the topics you need to know before you travel to the dealership.
Commercial Vehicles
Trucking companies, delivery services, and rideshare drivers buy, lease, trade in, and repair vehicles, too! You can’t afford to take your consumer mindset into a business deal. From canceling a bad car deal to figuring out whether your new commercial vehicle is covered by the Lemon Law, Georgia Car Law has the information you need to avoid putting your revenue at risk.
